Pekapeka of New Zealand

Hi bloggers,

Today I am going to tell you about my reading for this week. This week we are learning about Pekapeka (bats).

There are three different kinds of pekapeka in New Zealand. The long tailed pekapeka, the lesser short tailed pekapeka and the greater short tailed pekapeka. The greater short tailed pekapeka is extinct.

Did you know that pekapeka are one of New Zealand endemic mammals! Endemic means to be native to a certain place. Mammals are animals that don't lay eggs and feed their babies milk. Instead of hibernating, pekapeka do torpor in winter. Torpor is when you rest and don't do anything. Pekapeka live in roosts. Roosts is the name for pekapeka groupings.

I hope you liked my blog.

Bye bloggers.

Kind Blogging

 Kia Ora bloggers,

Guess what I did for Cybersmart? I had to make a comic about the difference between positive and negative commenting. A negative comment is when you make someone feel bad about their work. A positive comment is when you write in a way that will not make a person feel sad.

Here is my comic

Hopefully this comic helped you learn more about good commenting and bad commenting.

Blog you later.
